SLC Presents Annual “Back to School” Webinar for Parents of LGBTQ+ Students

Register today for the annual Back to School Webinar for LGBTQ+ Families, taking place on July 19, 2023 at 6:00pm.

Simone Chriss, Director of SLC’s LGBTQ+ Rights work, will yet again be ensuring parents of LGBTQ+ youth know their rights and are ready to advocate for a safe and affirming learning environment in which their child can thrive!

She will be educating parents on the current legal landscape, the recent laws and rules that impact LGBTQ+ students and families, the existing protections for LGBTQ+ students, and she will provide practical guidance and concrete action steps for parents to follow ensure a successful start to the school year!

This webinar is a collaboration between SLC and Equality Florida’s “Parents in Formation” and “Safe & Healthy Schools” initiatives.
